John Questions Worth Pondering:
Let us continue in John to hear the truths that Jesus was leaving for His disciples before His departure.
What demonstrates when someone loves Jesus? ( v. 15, 21, 23, 28)
What does the Father and the Son do for those who love Him? (v. 16, 18, 21, 23, 27)
List the truths Jesus taught about the Holy Spirit.
Who gives the Holy Spirit … v. 16
How long He stays with us … v. 16
What He is called … v. 16
What He is called … v.17 (Recall Jesus is the way, the TRUTH, and the life.)
Who can receive Him? … v. 17
Where does He dwell? … v 17
How will He come? … v. 26
What two things will He do? … v. 26
Spend time thinking on these truths.
What did Jesus leave with His disciples? v. 27
What two things does He tell them not to do?
A “think” question: What is the relationship, if any, between a troubled or fearful heart and peace within? What takes away a troubled or fearful heart?
Woven throughout this passage, what truths about the relationship between the Father and the Son does Jesus tell His disciples once again?
Can you find any additional instructions that Jesus is leaving His disciples?
Add them to your list.
May the Word of Christ dwell richly within!
